Privacy Policy

Who we are

Paws by Zoe is a dog walking and pet sitting service run by Zoe, based around Bromley, Greater London. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Paws by Zoe is the "data controller" of the personal information described below.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you choose to provide:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and postcode
  • Details about your pet(s) — type, name, breed, age and how many
  • The care you're looking for — which service, how often, when you'd like to start, and anything else you tell us in your message

We also store a scrambled, one-way fingerprint of your internet address (IP address) with each enquiry. This cannot be read back to identify you — it exists only so we can block spam and repeated automated submissions. If a form field is filled in that shouldn't be, we treat it as spam and nothing is stored at all.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not profile you or your pet.

How we use your information

We use your details only to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
  • Discuss and arrange the care of your pet
  • Keep the information needed to look after your pet safely while we work with you

Our legal basis for this is your consent (you chose to send the enquiry) and our legitimate interest in running a small pet care business and keeping animals in our care safe. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you separately ask us to.

Who can see it

Access to enquiry details is limited to Paws by Zoe. Enquiries are stored in this website's secure database, provided by our website platform, which processes data on our behalf under contract. We do not share your details with any other organisation.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as they're useful — to reply to you, and to hold the information we need to care for your pet while you're a client. After that, we delete them. Spam-blocking fingerprints are kept for at most 12 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that's wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. To make a request, please get in touch through the contact page.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk — though we'd always appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the latest version will always be on this page.
